“I first visited Sunbeam Lahartara as a “chess parent” with my 12-year-old daughter for the CBSE Chess Tournament in December 2013. I met the charismatic and visionary Mr and Mrs Madhok, who told me that they intended to put Sunbeam schools on the country’s quizzing map. An ambitious plan, I thought… but from Sunfest in 2015 to now, the Guru Nanak Quiz Championship, the stature of Sunbeam quizzing has only grown. Not just on their home turf, but everywhere. Champion quizzers from Sunbeam Lahartara have graced our content and quizmaster teams across India. I have personally had the pleasure of quizzing Sunbeams from 8 to 18 years old. Their zeal for quizzing, sedulous preparation, competitive spirit, and most of all, the hunger to excel, have burnished my every visit. In these 12 years, I have come to look upon Sunbeam Lahartara as my home in Varanasi. May our association and friendship never fade!”

“My first experience with the Sunbeam Group was when I was travelling from Patna to Varanasi for a quiz in the school in 2002, and the train got delayed. I wondered what kind of reception I would receive. Mr Deepak Madhok told me not to worry about it and that I could host a quiz in the school and the city whenever I wished to.
